Carbon 911 Build Along
Starting with precision laser-cut aluminum components, you'll build and braze a steel tube cage, create a lightweight carbon fiber body, and finish with a custom Porsche-inspired RC that simply doesn't exist anywhere else.
The Carbon 911 is our most ambitious Build Along yet, combining steel fabrication, carbon fiber construction, 3D printed tooling, and precision laser-cut components into one incredible project.
This is a true Build Along—not a pre-recorded course. You'll follow the project as it develops alongside Harley Designs through a private Discord community where STL files, documentation, templates, announcements, and project resources are released throughout the build. Follow along with the Harley Designs YouTube videos while collaborating with fellow builders.

What You'll Learn
Tube bending, notching, and rolling
TIG welding and silicon bronze brazing
Carbon fiber fabrication without specialized composite equipment
3D printed jigs, fixtures, and molds
General fabrication and assembly techniques
What's Included
Access to the private Carbon 911 Build Along Discord
Progressive release of STL files, templates, documentation, and project resources
Community support throughout the Build Along
The Build Along concludes once the project is complete. Future products, accessories, upgrades, or project expansions released after the Build Along are not included.
Required Platform
The Carbon 911 is specifically engineered around the Vanquish Products VRD Carbon Kit, which provides the F10 Portal Axles, VFD Transmission, links, and S8E shocks used in the project.
Additional required components include:
Vanquish VFD Stubby Kit
4.19" tires
Additional components—including wheels, electronics, hardware, raw materials, and fabrication supplies—are also required.
Required components, recommended parts, and purchasing information will be discussed in the launch video and clarified as the Build Along progresses.
Fabrication
This project requires 3D printing, tube fabrication, TIG welding/brazing, carbon fiber fabrication, and general shop skills.
Laser-cut metal components are professionally manufactured through SendCutSend, eliminating the need for a laser cutter or CNC machine. Laser-cut production files are not included or available separately. International builders without access to SendCutSend will be able to purchase the required laser-cut components from a designated U.S. supplier.
As with any real engineering project, occasional design refinements may require reprinting a part, remaking a component, or using additional materials. While every effort is made to minimize this, it's a natural part of custom fabrication—and part of what makes this a true Build Along.
Is This Build Along for You?
If you enjoy building, learning new fabrication skills, and creating something that can't be purchased off the shelf, the Carbon 911 Build Along is for you.
By the end of the project, you'll have built far more than an RC—you'll have gained the confidence and experience to tackle your own custom fabrication projects.

The following resources are intended to help you prepare for the Carbon 911 Build Along.
This is not a complete Bill of Materials. Additional materials, suppliers, purchasing information, and recommendations will be shared throughout the Build Along as the project develops. You do not need to purchase everything before the Build Along begins.
